Volunteering

There are many ways in which you could become actively involved in helping local cats to live a better life.

Cats Protection welcomes volunteers with open arms, whether you are young or old, male or female, there's a place for you with us!

Volunteering is the most worthwhile thing you can ever do. It gives a real sense of achievement, allows the development of new skills
and the social possibilities are endless!

Current Volunteer Opportunities in the Branch are as follows:

Collections

  • Collections Coordinator
Responsible for setting up and breaking down banners and collecting buckets at collections

Fund Raising

  • Facebook Seller
We need to find an outlet for the sale of our donated goods.  Someone with social media skills to investigate and
set up a Facebook selling site for us locally, utilising some of the local Facebook selling pages

  • Fund Raising Helpers
Helping us to sell goods at our outside events, and with the packing and unpacking of the goods
at the events.   Must be around during the day, and have transportation
Cat Welfare
  • Feral Cats Coordinator
To be responsible for following up leads to ensure that feral and semi feral cats and kittens find suitable homes at
stables, farms, smallholdings etc.  Previous experience not necessary, but must enjoy working with challenging cats

  • Fosterers - Full time and Emergency
People to care for our cats before they are rehomed. A spare room is all you need to do this.  Everything else will
be provided ... including the cats!

  • Home Visitors - Bracknell, Wokingham and other areas in our region
Home visitors are required in the Bracknell and Wokingham areas, and to cover the extended area of
Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor to carry out visits to homes of prospective new owners

Please contact us if you are interested.  All volunteers must become a member of the branch.

Fundraising volunteer

As a charity we rely on funds donated by generous members of the public to continue to help cats and kittens in need. Our fundraising volunteers are part of a passionate team that help raise funds to help our feline friends in need. They help plan and deliver exciting and varied fundraising events, which can be anything from craft fairs, cake sales, sponsored abseils – and anything in between!
